Following on from the previous experiments I started thinking about what would be the ephemeral object or subject for this thought experiment. It could just be as simple as say the ink, as a metaphor for ideas. Or I could make an object, that exists for the duration of a film, that is the prop for an idea. I was inspired by the idea of dissolvable fabric as used by both the following designers.
Given my pathway it seems appropriate to make an object from dissolvable thread and fabric. However which object to pick to make to hold the metaphor for the futility of life seems like a hell of a responsibility !! Objects are loaded with associations, burdened with layers of historical relationships relating to culture.
And theres the whole idea of once an object is made, it is then destroyed by dissolving it. Should there be anything left afterwards or is the film the residue of the object. Am I filming this as part of submission only ? Or is it part of the work ? Process or product?
I could relate back to the words. Having drawn over the text with dense black lines, they evoked stitches... these words could be stitched? Stitched onto acetate then washed away.

Poetry workshop
The distillation of words, resolving thoughts. Great workshop and a great opportunity to focus on what is resonant in response to the thought experiment passage. Brings the text back into focus. This idea I keep hovering around. The language is what I want to work with. To bring alive the written word into moving image somehow. To bring that structural organisation of letters into life. An analogical object to bring about an encounter.
